Isla Blanquilla, 50 miles north of Margarita, is among the most pristine exquisite islands in the entire Caribbean. The story that Isla Blanquilla acquired it's name from the many, nearly snowhite beaches, which grace it's shores, is apparently not correct. These beaches are, nonetheless, quite breathtaking. As it's distance from the Venezuelan mainland would suggest, the waters surrounding Isla Blanquilla are crystal clear and blessed with an astonishing array of marine life- both inshore and offshore.
The proximity of Isla Blanquilla to dramatic underwater drop offs and extremely deep ocean canyons, provides for spectacular free diving and equally spectacuar fishing - less than a mile from the beach.
